Coming soon, a documentary theatre project on environmental justice. Sacrifice Zone: Los Angeles (SZLA) is a collaboration of a USC creative team and members of the local community who have been fighting against neighborhood oil drilling–which is a source of extreme health risks. We joined with the People Not Pozos campaign of Esperanza Community Housing to create the first phase of SZLA which will be playing on March 11 and March 13 via the School of Dramatic Arts’ Virtual Stage. In phases two and three, we’ll be added enhanced multimedia, an interactive website, and more. In a world of interconnections, if one of our neighborhoods isn’t safe, are any of us safe?
