To start off the new decade, my collaborator, composer Guang Yang, and I were so very fortunate to have I N V I S I B L E, our short opera, included in the Eurydice Found Festival, presented by LA Opera, on January 16, 2020. The opera was one of the four parts of The Body Female Collective, created and curated by Velina Hasu Houston whose play, PARA-SOL, was also performed that evening, along with a “filmformance” by performance artist Nao Bustamante and a short film, LAST NIGHT IN EDINBURGH, by Bita Shafipour. Our singers, mezzo-soprano Nani Sinha-Matas and soprano Victoria Lawal, were absolutely glorious. With Shelly Ren accompanying them on violin. Thank you, LA Opera!
