When Theatres Appreciate Writers…

What could be better? Or more natural? Lower Depth Theatre Ensemble really gets it. They understand that supporting the work of writers today ensures that there actually will be a theatre of tomorrow. They want to make sure that stories will not go untold and voices will not go unheard. Their mission? “…to champion new plays that break down barriers of cultural misunderstanding, transform perspectives, and create space for fresh narratives to unfold. We keep a pulse on the social conversations happening in our global community, and are committed to incubating and presenting plays that directly address these questions.  We believe in the power of theatre to challenge, reveal, and heal.” I’m thrilled that the artistic founders of LDTE, Gregg Daniel, Veralyn Jones, Yvonne Huff Lee, and Jason Delane Lee, have made me a part of the family–and so glad I was able to join Kermit Frazier in conversation this past April.
